What it’s good for
Secret roles for party games
Play Mafia, Werewolf, Spyfall or an impostor game without a host or a deck of cards. Enter the players, pick a preset, then pass the device round: each player taps their name, sees their role privately and taps again to hide it before passing on.
Team and project roles
Assign lead, note taker, timekeeper and presenter fairly for workshops, class projects and stand-ups. Show all roles at once and re-shuffle for the next session so everyone rotates.
Classroom activities
Hand out debate positions, group-work jobs or historical characters at random. It is quick, fair and avoids the same few students always getting the interesting role.
About the Random Role Generator
The Random Role Generator deals a role to every player from a list you control. In secret mode each person reveals their own role on a shared screen, one at a time, so nobody sees anyone else’s card. In show-all mode you get the full list at once, ready to share or download. If there are more players than roles, roles repeat in order and the deck is shuffled, so you can write “Villager” once and still cover a large group. The shuffle runs in your browser with a cryptographically secure random generator; nothing is stored or sent anywhere. To pair people with tasks or gifts instead, use the Random Assigner.
